Apex Legends mobile solo mode – why isn’t it available on PC?

Apex Legends mobile has just introduced a new solo mode but unfortunately, the same mode is not available on the PC and console versions of the game yet.

Back in June 2022, the solo mode was teased for the first time and it was rumored that the mobile version might get the solo mode before the PC and console versions and the recent patch update has just confirmed the rumors.

October 3, 2022, Aftershow patch notes for Apex Legends mobile have brought with them the inclusion of the solo battle royale mode. However, this new game mode add-on is only being made available to the mobile version of the game. The PC and console versions of Apex Legends are still yet to receive the solo playlist.

Apex Legends Mobile Solo Mode Introduction

The solo mode in Apex legends will push players out of their comfort zone and have matches without the comfort of having a teammate to back them up in any situation.

In the solo mode, players will fight one on one against each other to be the last man standing.

Apex Legends players from PC and Console versions are a bit unhappy with this partial inclusion of the new game mode.

But the inclusion itself confirms that we may see the solo mode making its way in PC and Console versions soon.

In January of 2021, Respawn doubled down on the idea that solo would not become a staple of the Apex experience, writing the following in a blog post on January 8, 2021.

“When we introduced Solos as a limited-time mode last year we saw it actually negatively impacted the game, especially when it came to new player retention. We’ve also purposely designed Legends and their abilities to compliment team-play and squad composition, but when playing Solo some Legend abilities become useless.”

Although developer Respawn Entertainment was initially strongly opposed to the idea of introducing a single-player mode to Apex Legends, opinion seems to have changed when it comes to the idea of Apex being more than just a team-based battle royale.

Respawn has not yet given any indication as to whether the new solo mode will be released for PC and consoles. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more details emerge.
