Why is Jaycgee Banned on Twitch?

Jaycgee Banned on Twitch: Twitch streamer Joelle ‘Jacygee’ Grieco, known for her variety of streams, has been banned from the streaming platform for unspecified reasons.

Joelle “Jaycgee” Grieco, a Twitch streamer, has been banned from the network.

Her most recent stream was a Twitch subathon that began on January 5th and was cut short due to the unexpected ban.

Jaycgee is well-known for streaming a wide range of games as well as Just Chatting videos with her friends and fellow makers, such as OTK members Mizkif and Esfand.

As of writing this article, she has over 139,000 Twitch followers and 41.5K YouTube subscribers, where she posts hilarious clips from her streams.

Jaycgee is banned from Twitch

The young streamer was banned from streaming in the midst of her subathon on January 17th, according to StreamerBans.

The streamer also confirmed the suspension in a tweet but did not explain what happened, despite fans’ questions online.

Viewers who tuned in to Jaycgee’s recent streams theorized on the LivestreamFail subreddit that it was because she was playing movies while napping.

Twitch has a stringent policy against streaming copyrighted movies and shows on the platform, and violators may incur copyright strikes and be banned.

However, some people manage to get around this barrier in order to watch reality shows and anime on the platform.

Aside from questioning why Jaycgee was banned, other Twitch viewers attacked her subathon, labeling it low-effort and accusing her of “milking money from viewers.”

Fans were also comparing Jaycgee’s subathon to those of other streamers they thought were more entertaining, such as Buddha, Nidas, and WiseGuy.

Days-long subathons have already been active since roughly 2015 when Albert “Boxbox” Zheng hosted the first one with the help of a bot he designed that extended a timer when a viewer subscribed and donated.

These days, these broadcasting events are frequently held to commemorate a streamer’s Twitch anniversary or as fundraising.

Ludwig Ahgren’s 31-day Twitch stream in March 2021, where he described his daily life and undertook entertaining tasks to keep his viewers pleased until the marathon ended, was one of the latest subathons that drew the attention of viewers and streamers.

With Jaycgee’s subathon cut short due to her Twitch ban and viewers commenting negatively on it, it’s unclear whether she will continue the timer once her account is restored. Because no one knows how long this ban will last, her admirers will have to wait patiently for her comeback.
